SeaCrest is looking for a qualified, self-motivated accreditation specialist to assist our team serving clients interested in earning certification program accreditation. The specialist will work on a contract, as-needed basis with the SeaCrest team. Applicants must have a background in the certification industry and must be familiar with NCCA, ANSI and/or ABNS accreditation standards. The main responsibilities include:

  • Evaluating certification programs’ readiness for NCCA, ANSI and/or ABNS accreditation
  • Assisting with the preparation of draft policy manuals, candidate handbooks, web site content, and other documentation
  • Drafting accreditation applications
  • Review accreditation applications for compliance with the NCCA, ANSI and/or ABNS accreditation standards

Sign language interpreters seek regulation
(The Colorado Statesman) American Sign Language is the native tongue for some 42,000 Coloradans who are deaf and 350,000 more who are hard of hearing, and ASL interpreters create the communication link between hearing persons and deaf persons. ASL interpreters have been trying to have the state regulate their trade since 1991. The most recent attempt is a Sunrise review from January 2009, which is valid for the Department of Regulatory Agencies through 2010.

New ANSI workshop on accreditation of certificate-issuing bodies
(Thomas.net) ANSI's workshop in Washington, DC on accreditation of certificate-issuing bodies will introduce attendees to American National Standard ASTM E2659-09, Standard Practice for Certificate Programs, as well as Certificate Accreditation Program (ANSI-CAP). Also, program will foster comprehension pertaining to requirements for developing quality education/training courses that have assessment at the end to determine if learning outcomes have been achieved.

CRC(R) accreditation distinguishes retirement planning professionals
(Reuters.com) As of September 1, 2009 the CRC officially met the certification accreditation standards determined by the National Commission of Certifying Agencies (NCCA).

National Certification Board to launch advanced exam
(massagemag.com) The National Certification Board for Therapeutic Massage & Bodywork (NCBTMB) announced today, Sept. 8, that the official steering group and task force have set the timeline for the Advanced Certification Exam for the massage and bodywork profession.
