Five indicted in EMT certification scheme
(Boston.com) The state attorney general’s office announced Monday that a Malden man is among five indicted by a Suffolk County Grand Jury for his involvement in allegedly creating and submitting training records that falsely showed dozens of emergency personnel attended courses they were required to complete in order to maintain their certification.
ER doctors settle squabble on certification
(Chron) In a matter that competing camps of doctors warned would affect the welfare of patients, Texas' medical regulatory agency Friday changed its rules to prevent future emergency physicians from advertising themselves as board-certified if they haven't completed supervised training in the specialty.
New Study Gauges Impact of Certification on Stakeholders
(ICE News) Pharmacy technicians assist pharmacists in dispensing medications and are accountable to the supervising pharmacist who is legally responsible through state licensure for the care and safety of patients served by the pharmacy. The evolving relationship of the pharmacist and technician prompted the Pharmacy Technician Certification Board (PTCB) to sponsor a study to better understand pharmacists’ perceptions about technician certification and the role it plays in enhancing work environments.
