ANSI Calls for Nominations for 2013 PCAC candidates

ANSI invites members to recommend qualified candidates for Institute's Personnel Certification Accreditation Committee (PCAC). Nominations are due by August 16, 2012 and are for 3-year terms that begin January 1, 2013. PCAC Nominations Committee seeks national experts in fields of personnel certification, accreditation, and policy development. Duties will include creating recommended policies and procedures, determining accreditation status, and providing input regarding operations.

ANSI Accredits First Five Health Information Technology Certification Bodies

The American National Standards Institute (ANSI), coordinator of the U.S. voluntary standardization system, is pleased to announce the first accreditations of health information technology certification bodies under the U.S. Department of Health and Human Services (HHS) Office of the National Coordinator (ONC) Permanent Certification Program for Health Information Technology (HIT). In June 2011 ANSI was selected as the Approved Accreditor for the ONC program, which was established by regulation in a final rule published in the Federal Register on January 7, 2011.
